VIRTUAL DASHCON
Virtual DashCon 2 is an online convention available to everyone!
As it turned out, DashCon 2’s fatal flaw was that it was just too small. Several times more people wanted to go than there was space available, and for many international fans, travel was simply infeasible. That doesn’t even account for disabled folks for whom the barriers to attending an in-person convention are just too high. These are among the many reasons the organizers decided to create VirtualDash.
VirtualDash is not just the hybrid arm of the convention, but a full-on online convention experience. It boasts exclusive events (gameshows, movie screenings, video games, and more), online-exclusive panels, and of course, live streams of the in-person convention. Some of those panels are hosted by VirtualDash-exclusive guests, who will be announced in due time, so stay tuned!
Attendees have described VirtualDash as the best online convention they’ve ever been to, especially considering how low the ticket price is. What’s more, the dedicated VirtualDash team is committed to delivering an even better experience than last year.
Notice: VirtualDash will be held on Discord in a dedicated event server. Attendees will need a Discord account to register for a ticket.
What is Virtual DashCon 2?
Virtual DashCon 2 is an online, Discord-based convention that provides a whole different DashCon 2 experience. It’s our way of trying to make DashCon 2 accessible to anyone who wants to attend DashCon 2 but for whatever reason can’t make it in-person.
A Virtual DashCon 2 ticket gives you exclusive access to the online convention community via Discord, live-streams of many of the IRL panels via the Eventbrite page, as well as online-exclusive panels, a digital Dealer’s Hall, and an online-exclusive charity raffle.
10% of all ticket sales will be going to Rainbow Railroad, a charity that helps relocate LGBTQI+ people experiencing state-sponsored persecution to somewhere safe where they can rebuild.
Do I have to watch the panels live?
Virtual DashCon 2 tickets include permanent access to all of the panel live streams as recorded videos, so you can watch them whenever you’d like!
Will the Guillotining be streamed? What about the SuperWhoLock wedding?
Yes to both
Do I need a Discord account to participate?
Yes. The whole convention will be hosted and centralized on Discord, so you will need a Discord account to participate. As such, we heavily recommend you also join our year-round Discord (“DashCon 2: The Server”); it’s a ton of fun!
Is there a ball pit?
Somehow, some way, we will simulate a goddamned ball pit.
Virtual DashCon 2/VirtualDash tickets are non-refundable except in very unique cases. If you need a refund, please email virtualdash@dashcontwo.com with more details.
Virtual Panel Applications for 2026 VirtualDash open April 1!
Virtual Panels are essentially a convention breakout room. Volunteer presenters will typically give lecture-style presentations on a topic of interest to a group of attendees. Think ‘powerpoint night where I yap about my hyperfixation’ but on a larger scale, with topics ranging from professional artists giving advice, to in-depth breakdowns of specific media. There’s a lot of diversity, and panels can take forms beyond what we’ve outlined: a trivia show, an art trade, a skill-building workshop, et cetera. We’re open to all your wildest and whackiest ideas!
We encourage you to consider all the benefits of hosting a panel virtually- outside the box of a traditional in-person panel, virtual panels open up both the panellist and the audience to create unique experiences! The VirtualDash team is especially interested in panels that take advantage of the virtual space, and all the unique features that this medium enables. Virtual Panels will be hosted in the VirtualDash Discord Server.
Application Guidelines
Panel applications open at 12:00 PM EDT on Wednesday, April 1 2026. Applications close at Midnight EDT on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Shortlisted panellists will be contacted to arrange an interview and discuss further details at a later time. Shortlisting is not a guarantee that you will run a panel.
Applicants will be required to provide their contact information, preliminary information about their panel idea (a title, max 1-2 paragraph summary), and agree to follow all policies outlined on our website. Panels vary in length between 30 minutes, an hour, and 90 minutes. Up to 7 panelists may be included on a single application. Applicants may also attach a partial or completed slideshow to their application, though this is optional. Successful applicants will be issued a time slot and location for their panel, and will be required to submit all panel materials (slideshows, props, etc) for review a month before the opening of the convention, (July 1, 2026). Panelists will be scheduled for a tech run of their virtual panel in the two weeks prior to the opening of the convention.
Panels at VirtualDash are not permitted to include 18+/adult content (such as, but not limited to, explicit material, gore, obscenity). We are a family-friendly event, and all panels must follow the rules outlined on our Convention Policies page. Further rules and restrictions are also outlined below. All panels will be moderated, and VirtualDash reserves the right to cancel a panel and revoke a panelist’s ticket(s) at any time if the material is found to violate our policies.
Ahead of VirtualDash, we will host a mandatory private tech rehearsal for each panel. This is to ensure that panelists have a working setup and know how to troubleshoot basic issues that may arise during the convention itself. Panelists will be contacted by VirtualDash staff to coordinate a time slot that works for all involved parties.
Panelists will not be required to pay for their ticket(s). If you are given a panel slot, you will be given a ticket to the entire VirtualDash event. We do not offer compensation for VirtualDash panelists to any part of the IRL DashCon 2 convention in Toronto. Panelists who have already purchased a VirtualDash ticket will be offered a refund. Unfortunately, DashCon 2 cannot refund the processing fees taken by Simpli Events nor those of the transaction processing service Stripe.
Panelists who do not complete a mandatory tech rehearsal with us in the weeks leading up to VirtualDash, or who don’t show up to their panel will have their ticket(s) (access to the VirtualDash space) revoked.
Panel Rules and Restrictions
Applicants are required to have read and agree to obey DashCon 2’s Convention policies, as well as DashCon 2’s Panel Rules and Restrictions. Any Panelist found to have violated these policies will have their ticket(s) immediately revoked and will be removed from the convention Discord. No compensation will be offered for any expenses in the case of a revoked ticket.
