Dashcon 2 Pre-Registration Picnic Event

In 2026, DashCon 2 is having its first pre-registration event!

What is pre-registration?

Folks who are local or arrive in Toronto early can come and pick up their badges the day before the convention. That way they get to skip the line the next morning and do some early socialization, without needing to pay for Badge Mailout.

To make the gathering a little more fun, we’re theming it around a cosplay picnic and little guy show and tell!

Cosplay Picnic

You are invited to dress up in cosplay and bring snacks/packed lunch to eat on the grass.
DashCon 2 will have some pre-packaged fruit and veggie plates for you to sample, but we don’t expect supplies to last, so please bring your own food if you’d like to eat!

Little guy show and tell

In cosplay or not, we encourage bringing a little friend to introduce to folks around! It’s a great conversation starter.
Examples of Little Guys include stuffed animals, crochet plushes, rocks with googly eyes—any inanimate object that brings you joy and you want to introduce to other people. Please do not bring live animals.

Will it be at the venue?

Nope! The pre-registration event takes place at Wilket Creek Park, about a seven-minute drive from the Japanese Canadian Culture Centre. Do not go to the JCCC. No one will be there.

How do I get there? And how do I find you?

By Public Transport

Disembark from the TTC Subway Line 5 (Orange Line) at Sunnybrook Park Station (if traveling east) or from the 34 Eglinton to Mount Station bus at Eglinton Ave East @ Leslie St West Side (if travelling west). Then follow signs for Wilket Creek Park. The walk is about seven minutes.

By Car

The major intersection is Don Mills & Eglinton. Driving East on Eglinton, turn right onto Leslie St. Then, turn left off of Leslie St onto a downward-sloping road marked with a City of Toronto sign advertising both Sunnybrook and Wilket Creek parks. Follow GPS directions for Picnic Area #4.

Finding Us

We’ll have a large multicoloured flag with the DashCon 2 logo on it identifying our picnic spot. (We will upload a photo here once we have one.) If all else fails, keep left along the unnamed road off of Leslie St and walk until you find us.

I use a mobility aid. Will that cause any issues?

The roads and sidewalks leading up to the picnic area are paved, but there is a small amount of grass between the pre-registration tables and the main walkway. Our volunteers are more than happy to assist attendees using mobility aids, by carrying registration materials over to the sidewalk, or to help out with moving over the grass.

I got Badge Mailout / I don’t want to pick up my badge in advance / I don’t have a ticket, can I still come hang out?

Yes. All are welcome. However, in the event of crowding, DashCon 2 reserves the right to close/restrict the event in any way we like, including restricting access to present badge holders.

The listed maximum capacity of Picnic Area #4 is 50 people, so we recommend dispersing into the wider park once you have your badge.
