Hi all,
In between the bigger, splashier announcements, we decided to share some of the cozier elements of the DashCon 2 experience. Part of what drove the team to found DashCon 2 is community building; let’s make something together and make some friends while we’re at it.
First up:
DashCon 2’s Exquisite Corpse
Also known as our Art Trade.
For those of us who haven’t attended art school, an exquisite corpse is an art piece made collectively, typically in sequence, pioneered by French surrealists in the early nineteen-hundreds. We are not that fancy, but the name is very fun.

DashCon 2 will host an art trade (bring your own sketchbooks!) where attendees swap paper/sketchbooks and draw for one another during fixed time intervals. Pencils and office paper will be provided. Accompanying the trade will be big swathes of chart paper posed throughout the room, where anyone can contribute whatever they like to an ever-growing chaotic art piece. All skill levels welcome!
Ours, in all likelihood, will be a lot weirder. We’re morbidly curious to see what we’ll end up creating.
Crow Exchange
Initially pitched as Enamel Pin Trading, DashCon 2’s Crow Exchange is a relaxed space where people can come and trade little shinies that they have collected over time, much like crows! Feel free to bring enamel pins, pin-back buttons, kandi bracelets, or that cool shiny rock you found on the sidewalk. Any and all small treasures are welcome—beads, buttons, baubles, oh my!
Please refrain from handing out promotional items during the exchange. However, if you want to make fun little charms or bracelets to trade/hand out specifically for the Crow Exchange, go right ahead.
That’s all for this week, but keep an eye out for our next update—we should have quite the surprise!
